Conversation context
Each conversation in Appilot belongs to one site. The assistant keeps a separate chat thread per site, so opening it on a site always picks up that site's own conversation, never one from somewhere else.
Why conversations are scoped to a site
Appilot's answers are tailored to the site you're on, using the knowledge your organization has authored for that site. If a conversation about your CRM could quietly continue on your support portal, two things would go wrong:
- The assistant would carry over reasoning that no longer applies (different page, different workflows, different forms).
- Your reading history would mix two unrelated contexts, making it harder to find earlier answers and harder for your organization to keep usage data clean per site.
Scoping the conversation to one site keeps the assistant precise and your history organized.
What you'll see
When you open the assistant:
- On a site you've chatted on before, your last conversation for that site is restored, ready to continue.
- On a site you haven't used yet, you get a clean composer to start a new conversation.
When you move to a different site, the assistant switches to that site's own thread automatically. The conversation you left isn't lost: it stays saved, and you return to it the moment you come back to its site.
Frequently asked
Can a single conversation span two sites?
No. By design, a conversation belongs to exactly one site. This is what keeps the assistant's answers precise to the page you're on, and what keeps your history organized.
I switched sites and my previous chat disappeared. Where did it go?
It's safe. Each site has its own thread, so when you switch sites the assistant shows the new site's thread instead. Go back to the original site and your conversation is right there where you left it. You can also find every conversation in the My Conversations view.
How do I start a fresh conversation on the site I'm on?
Use the new conversation button in the panel header (the ✎ icon). It clears the current site's thread and starts a new one for that same site. Your other sites' threads are untouched.
Can I delete a conversation I no longer need?
Yes. Conversations can be deleted from the My Conversations view. Deletion is permanent and removes the conversation and all its messages.
